Good music

My husband and I attended a Maroon 5 concert for our anniversary.  It was so good.  We did the Eagles a few years back for his birthday and I was just amazed how much concerts had changed (or had we???) They seemed so much more laid back than concerts of our college days!!!  I mean people actually stayed seated at the Eagles.......and honestly, I think we were the "young" crowd in attendance!   I knew their appeal went beyond age barriers......but evidentally people have been staying at the Hotel California for longer than I realized.:)    They were thoroughly entertaining nonetheless and such talented musicians! The Eagles sounded amazing after all these years and Maroon 5.......well they were amazing as well!!!
She Will.............Be Loved <3
Let me add a special thanks to my dear friend who burned a CD for me of Maroon 5's newest albulm......soooo good!!!! So now I can jam out in the car!!  Great road music~

Day 7: Music

Meringue

My daughter has this thing for meringue.........she's been intrugued by it......fascinated with it........and borderline obsessed about it for quite some time now......well, I think it actually started with her first seeing it at a local bakery (and it did look delish!) so tonight.....whilst we were baking so called "melt in your mouth sugar cookies" we ended up with 3 extra egg whites.......and then it hit me~BAM~ perfect time to make meringue!!!
So we did.  Yum!!!  Now what they don't tell you about meringue.......is that it takes quite some TIME to make it peak (hee, hee, ok stop it!) but it is quite pretty and definitely delish!!!  so ........
Day 6: Meringue

Barbie~

It truly is the season of giving.......just got word that a friend of mine from high school received the Barbie we sent her.......whole story: about a year ago I found out that she had NEVER had a barbie ( Her parents had "reasons".......or so they say, I know, I know....this borders on abuse :)  but when I found this out I knew I just had to get her a barbie.......so I told my girls about it and they were all over it.......they picked out the "perfect" one and I told them it was one of our "angel tree" gifts this year......I didn't tell them that she was my age, just that she was a "girl who'd never had a barbie in her whole life".........being the sweethearts that they are.....they immediately wanted to clean out their barbie "tub" and give her some barbies but I told them we'd just send her the new one.  Well, today she posts on facebook that it arrived!!!  YEAH!!!   I hope she plays with it for years and makes up for lost time!!!!  Girls and Dolls~

Day 5 Barbie :)

Laughter!

Just took the kids to see the new Will Farrel movie, MegaMind!  So funny.....we love Will Farrel so anything he does is always awesome (minus Step Brothers!!!  Ok, I did NOT find the humor in some parts of that one--just gross!)  but this one was really cute!  Best part--the overall message that Good overcomes evil :)  ........and the music was great--
Nothing like a family movie to counteract Black Friday Frenzy~~

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

You will recall how I said a friend inspired me with the gratitude project?  I really need to clarify.......that my daughter has REALLY been the inspiration behind my quest to blog!!!!  She's quite a writer and a natural with technology...........and of course she's an inspiration in many facets of my life but she definitely deserves a SHOUT OUT on my blog!! ;)

Well did I mention that this friend is a photographer.......so she has done a photo-journal-version of the gratitude project!!  Now, I'm not a photographer (don't even own a REAL camera) but I'm thinking that this gratitude photo-journal project would be a WONDERFUL keepsake for our children........and hey, that's what got me into this whole journal-turned blogger mommy- thing to begin with so.............let's give it a try......with pictures!   Now I won't be able to do a day-by-day post or anything like that (hey--a girl's gotta have her limits :)  but I figure that if each post is numbered.......then whenever I reach my 365th post.........the project will be complete.

DAY 3     A husband's touch :)  I came home feeling completely crummy......the whole runny nose crank or allergies........that everyone seems to be dealing with right now.  On top of that, one of my besties had just called to cancel our dinner plans (for being sick with the same junk)..........and as he comes in the door.....he takes one look at my face and immediately begins to comfort me........asking how I feel and checking me over from head to toe like an overprotective mother (in his masculine defense.......I never actually had an overprotective mother so it takes very little mothering for me to be able to say this felt like overprotective mothering :) ........then insisting I take some airborne and get to bed early......... simply giving his loving touch.............and instantly, I began to feel better.  I know the power of healing in the human touch.......but it is so much more when that hand is one you have walked through much of your life with.......and it soothes the soul.........like a warm bowl of chicken noodle soup.  Mmmmm......mmmmm......good!
